NSW banned a film about gay families from schools, and Daniel Andrews will not have a bar of it.
You're probably well aware by now that the NSW government banned the film Gayby Baby from being shown during school hours after a media controversy stoked by The Daily Telegraph.
Now, Victorian premier Daniel Andrews wants everyone to know that Victoria is not here for the ban.
The NSW government "couldn't be more wrong" in their banning of the film, wrote Andrews.
"Young people who are same-sex attracted often lead a quietly difficult life and they deserve our full support," he said.
"If you want to talk about things that confuse and distress young people, let's talk about telling thousands upon thousands of them that they aren't 'normal'."
"We won't put up with this kind of cruel rubbish in our state. If any young person is hurt by all this, please know that I stand with you. I'm on your side. So is the Victorian Government."
